Mined Diamonds & The Kimberley Process
The GemGuy9 demands a zero-tolerance policy toward conflict diamonds with our diamond suppliers. Therefore, we purchase our diamonds from respected suppliers who maintain the ethics, standards and adherence to the rules of the Kimberley Process.
The main goal of the Kimberley Process is to remove conflict diamonds from the supply chain. In May 2000 in Kimberley South Africa, a group of South African diamond producing states met and vowed to keep the trade in rough diamonds conflict free.
In 2003 The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme was born.
Today the Kimberley Process has 59 participants representing 81 countries and accounts for 99.8 % of the trade in rough diamonds.
